Attending the 2026 Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Philadelphia offered a valuable opportunity to reflect on how careers begin, adapt and endure across the working life. Alongside presenting my own research, I learned from sessions in which researchers examined how people renew their expertise, navigate change and sustain themselves over time.
